Agustin Jimenez BCBA

Bio

Agustin Jimenez is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has been in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for over 15 years. He first started out as a Behavior Technician providing Behavioral Services to children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities in schools, homes, and the community.

He obtained his Master’s of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2013 from California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA). While at Cal State LA, Agustin conducted and published research in the areas of assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior, in addition to pediatric feeding issues, treatments for rapid eating and Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) and staff training.

Mr. Jimenez has continued at Cal State LA as an adjunct faculty member where he teaches a variety of courses in the ABA and related areas including: Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis, Individual Counseling Strategies, Behavior Analytic Consultation, etc.

Mr. Jimenez primarily works as a BCBA Consultant for local agencies. Currently, his work focuses on providing behavioral consultation to agencies to help them better serve their clients, primarily to reduce problem behavior and increase functional skills.

In addition, Mr. Jimenez has pioneered and dedicating his efforts to clients and families to improve their ability to tolerate dental routines, as well as accumulating evidence for Dental Desensitization for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.

This service has greatly helped our son with his dental needs. The program has allowed our son to cope with loud noises and oral stimulation involved in a dental procedure. Our son has also grown to be more compliant because his fears of a dentist and foreign objects in his mouth are no longer scary. This is a great program and we are lucky our son has been able to benefit from it.

I am very satisfied with the result of the dental desensitization for my daughter. She is now able to open her mouth and tolerate the dental check up and cleaning of her teeth. The dentist was even able to take xrays of her teeth. She no longer needs to be papoose (which have a negative impact and can be traumatizing)just to be able to clean her teeth. Staff were very patient with her.

This dental desensitization program is a game changer. My daughter used to refuse to sit in the dentist’s chair, and my other daughter couldn't stay still. When we first met Augi and the team, my girls were too scared to even enter the "exam" room. But after completing the program, they were able to get full dental check-ups with their real dentist! Our BCBA's even joined us for support during the first appointment, which was so appreciated. I thought without the sessions, the kids might fall back into their anxieties, but I was wrong—they've only become more comfortable! The program is patient, individualized, and the specialists truly know how to connect with kids. A very professional and successful program!
